Apologies for the last two entries -

... because woah, they were pretty pathetic and I was you know... space cakes!

What's happening today? My first performance! Some piece about driving through the midwest... I can never get away from that godforsaken place, huh? Well it's a neat piece, I don't recall what it is called or who the composer is since we've only had one rehearsal, which probably makes my mention of the piece completely worthless, but it's a pretty cool piece, and easy as hell - my favorite combination. Maybe I'll remember to post what the piece is called when I see it on tonight's program. The dude conducting it is a new colleague and American percussionist Nick, who had the pleasure of studying at Lucerne and who I was enthusiastically hooked up with by our very own Jon Heffer (clever, huh?).

What more important than anything else - what am I wearing tonight? POP QUIZ:

a) A beautiful black suit by Ermenegildo Zegna, $4,000
b) A shirt and tie
c) Mesh hoodie
d) The leather pants

If you said a): at any other time and if I somehow had $4,000 to blow, you'd be right, but unfortunately for me, you're wrong. But thanks for thinking I can afford that. If you said b): you obviously don't know me at all. And you're probably a right-wing, capitalist fat head with no teeth and a cheating spouse - an unfortunately common thing. If you said c): then at least you know me. Those who said d) are probably the only ones who actually have been to this blog at all. Congrats, you are one of my friends.

In other news, I learned Chopin Op. 10 no. 8 in 6 days! And my birthday present to myself is a week in Egypt! (not shittin' you)

How can you afford to go to Egypt? I work full-time and I can't even afford to move out of my parents house! I loathe you. At least I will until I visit you, which is tenatively scheduled for the 1st or 2nd week of July (for about 2 days). I'm bringing Javi with me from Pamplona so make some room (or we'll all just snuggle - whatever). Miss you
